Palm Sunday – Praise Changes Things

Read Matthew 21:1-11 (Key verse: 9)

When Jesus rode into Jerusalem, the emotion of the moment swept the crowd along and they were quick to praise Him as their Lord and King. It can be much easier to praise and worship in a church gathering than it is to praise God quietly at home! The reality is we often don’t feel like praising Jesus alone on a Monday morning as we face the routine or challenges of life. However, when we choose to fix our eyes on Jesus and praise Him, we move the focus off ourselves and our perspective begins to change. Praising God makes room for His presence and the struggles we face begin to lose their grip. When we give honour to God, His power is released!

‘I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvellous things you have done. I will be filled with joy because of you. I will sing praises to your name, O Most High.’

(Psalm 9:1,2 NLT)

Spend some time praising God for who He is and all He’s done. How has praising God changed things?
