FOODBANK
ROLE DESCRIPTION & REGISTER
Foodbanks provide emergency food and basic toiletries to individuals and families who may be facing hardship for a variety of reasons. We are a busy foodbank across two sites, serving members of the local communities in Halesowen and Rowley. We want to create an environment that makes people feel welcomed, valued and at ease when they access our foodbank, being relational rather than simply transactional. Therefore, we aim to offer refreshments while people wait, chat with them, and where necessary, signpost to other agencies and services for further support. The role also includes processing of deliveries from the central Black Country Foodbank warehouse, and therefore involves some lifting and carrying, as well as weighing, sorting, dating and packing.
